(( Out of character lead-in: I believe it was Vugor who suggested that some of the more senior characters make an effort to describe themselves on the forums for the newer folks. With the influx of people following the HoTU upgrade, now seems like a good time:-) Now I'm not claiming that little Hanah is a senior figure by any stretch but I'm trying to (a) start a trend and (b) get around the fact that I left my character bio generic:-) Silentus' biography is a very useful feature but I'm looking for a way to get around telling every new face that Hanah's missing a digit:-) What I'm trying to do is provide a more detailed description for folks first meeting this character. And excuse the poor writing, I just woke up! ))
Hanah Dedraluin is small and waifish even by elven standards, dwarfed by her armour and heavy spear. Her auburn hair is beginning to tinge with gray along her forehead, odd in one otherwise so young; long, sharp ears studded with earrings frame her face. Soft green eyes smile up at you; sharp cheekbones and a sharp chin complete her face. She's otherwise unremarkable: neither an alien-looking nor imposingly beautiful elf. Her voice tends to be soft and comfortable, her accent only occasionally betraying her. She habitually wears an expression of nearly perpetual acceptance: young or old, mundane or exotic, all new arrivals to Fredian receive the same smile. But could anyone really be that trusting...?
At first glance it's hard to judge the season Hanah's reached on this island, whether she's still a neophyte or has climbed the ranks as a priestess of Anah. Her demeanor would imply that she is still a novice, but the more perceptive may feel a brief shiver of a holy aura surrounding her, evocative of a warm breeze. (( Come on, she's an epic cleric, give me a little razzle-dazzle here:-) )) And from time to time, a flash of somber insight appears in her expression... at these times it's clear that Hanah has seen more of this world than she may have once wished to.
She's accumulated few scars, the most notable being the obviously recent amputation of her left ring finger at the base; a very sharp knife must have been used, and a skilled healer involved in the recovery. She seems self-conscious of it, and tends to not use her left hand in the presence of new arrivals. Her fingers and nails are permanently mottled with dyes and her hands show signs of work, perhaps she is a tailor...?
Often found around the fire in West Styne in her preferred red dress, Hanah will smile at you happily and introduce herself. "Hello young one, my name is Hanah, pleased to meet you..."
