An old man sits by the fire, gazing into with it a blank stare. He clutches a sword in one hand, the gauntlets removed and the knuckles turning white. Presently his gaze turns to the sword and tears fall from his eyes. Adding coal to the fire until it glows bright, he then thrusts the sword into the middle of the blazing inferno.
"Farewell my friend. My sword I send to you to aid you on your journey. May the gods smile on your passing"
With the sword melted he stands and gazes grimly around.
"Now too do I realise that there are more days behind than there are in front."
He turns and walks towards the mountains and the desert beyond.
"All that I own is worthless to me now"
And so began the final journey of Hand Fearlson.
