...as transcribed by Silentus the Chronicler in interview on Month 2, Day 11, Year of the Dragon
Musashi: I came from a land far from here. I served the SHogun Lao Tzu, He was my Liege. I had served him as a Samurai from a young age and fought many battles in his honor. I became his personal bodyguard. My Liege was poisoned by an assassin sent by a rival shogun. He had entered his chamber in the night. It was a manner of minutes for me to enter to his defense... and I battled the assassin *puts hand over patch* we all bare scars from that night. To find a cure for my Shogun's ailment... we were to travel to a far off ilsand, from our land. My people do travel by sea, but not long distances. Then... the storm came, needless to say we were shipwrecked *looks off rather distant* I was found by a fishing boat from this villiage; that was the day I became a Ronin, a warrior without one to guide his sword *looks down* I traveled this land for some time. I have no reason to believe that my lord survived. Though my blade can do little against a coming storm *pulls out sword observing it as it gleams in the torchlight, swings it twice rapidly and resheaths* I was to protect my liege, and in this I failed him. I traveled this land as a Ronin... a wanderer... Until... I met Master Sniven. He taught me much of this realm... and was a worth, strong leader. I... a sword without a hand to guide it... pledged my loyalties to him... and became once more... A samurai.
Minor editing was employed in this transcription. A very small quantity of extraneious conversation was removed for clarity which bears no weight on the interview. The subject fully agreed to allow his or her interview to be recorded and published to the public record.
