Gennita and Salacia Silk, the Silk sisters, are extremely driven by a dark and tragic past.
Salacia's mother, Lady Fornacia Silk, a beautiful and respected society lady, spent many weeks tending to her weak and ailing husband. He was once a proud warrior, feared and respected as Lord Athenmour Silk, unfortunately afflicted during battle with a dreaded disease, suspected part curse. Despite the best care, powerful healing and the love of his wife, Lord Silk was unable to continue the battle in this life. He moved onto a higher plane where he continues to fight the good fight, whilst watching the progress of his daughters from that place for heros.
Lady Fornacia, despite the support from her friends and family grieved deeply. Her only daughter, Salacia Silk was young and still in Swaddling. Many friends and those who respected the name of Silk came to pay their respects to this widowed beauty.
There was an evening when a noble arrived, unknown to Fornacia, but as Lord Silk had known many, she warmly welcomed him into her home to discuss the achievements of her departed hero. There came a point during this visit where some heated exchange took place. During this me, Fornacia was subject to brutal and violent act of such force that she was left unconscious for 2 days. Whilst still young, Salacia was present and witnessed the entire dreadful scene, being ultimately deeply scarred, some say that she has never ever come to terms with the events of this day.
Some time later, Lady Fornacia gave birth to another child, another daughter, as beautiful as the first but in a very different way. Fornacia loved both daughters deeply, and both daughters both grew and loved each other, foreve r looking out for and safeguarding the other.
When they were of an appropriate age, Lady Fornacia told Gennita about the truth of her patronage, explaining why she looked so different from her sister Salacia. On this day, Gennita vowed to pursue this man that had perpetrated such an awful deed upon her mother when possibly at her most vulnerable. She put her mind to training in violent and martial arts, so that when the moment became available, justice could be meted out and a terrible debt repaid.
Salacia, being present during this act, had mentally erased this awful memory, choosing a mist shrouded past rather than relive and re-see those desperately tragic moments. Salacia too put her mind to a formidable training regime for a task of which she was a little unsure, although it's importance she clearly recognised.
Both sisters became overpowering weapons masters, favouring exotic Katanas as their preferred blade of wielding.
After many years of extended grieving, eased only by the joy of having such beautiful daughters, Lady Fornacia became ill and passed onto that place where her husband travelled to. This sad day came as Salacia was travelling, leaving only Gennita to comfort her dying mother. With almost her last breath, Lady Fornacia made Gennita promise that the true past would be explained to her Salacia so that her troubled mind would be eased and both sisters could perhaps avenge this terrible act.
These two women are now embarked upon a quest that will end only with the spilling of blood from the one that knows what terrible act he performed.
