A Tail From the High Sea
Captain Gallowmen was by no means a strong man, But he was a good Captain and a great leader. He and his band of pirates sailed the seas on a vessle named "The Floating Gallows". The ship earned this title because of Gallowmens name of corse and also they would hang thier victams from the Sail poasts. Over many years Gallowmen had earned a great deal of gold and looked to be set for life. Untell he made the the great mistake that plenty of us make, he fell in love. The lass he loved was a barmaid that had been taken by the pirates on a raid to a port. She was forced to clean and cook for the entire ship. Gallowmen fell for her the moment he saw her. But she despised Gallowmen for takeing her from her home. One evening Gallowmen couldn't sleep and decided to walk around the ship. When Gallowmen steped onto the deck he saw Three of his crew trying to force themselfs on the barmaid whom Gallowmen loved.
The three had alwase been trouble Lobie, a half drow. Yonklik, a human. And finally Roflerg, a half orc coverd in scars piercings and tattoos. Roflerg stood 3 inches short of nine feet and was a ringleader of the more troublesom pirates. Gallowmen pulld out his steel and slashed Roflerg across his bare back. The other two ran back into the ship as Gollowmen and Roflerg fought.
It was a hard fight but Gallowmen was the victor. afterward he helped his love up and gave her a blanked to cover herslef for the three had ripped off her shirt. The two climbed into the crows nest and spent the entire night talking and holding eachother. What they didn't know was that below deck the crew were convinced the Captain had gone soft. Gollowmens first mate saw this as his chance to take over. He convinced all the crew to overthrow Gallowmen. Gallowmen and his love saw an island nearby from the crows nest
and decided this was thier chance to get off the ship and live together in peace. So as the sun started to rise they climbed down. Gallowmen had just finished loading a raft with suplys when all his crew armed to the teeth were about to make thier move. The deck was empty except for Gallowmen and his love, the sun just comeing up and the sea was calm. Red and orange streemed across the sky. Gallowmen placed his love onto the raft, then the entire crew pored onto the deck seemingly from out of nowhere. They siezed Gallowmen, He kicked the raft and set it off the ship so his love would live. His crew was distracted with Gallowmen to worrie about the girl escapeing. Then out of nowhere The sky went grey, then black. Winds picked up and The sea Rolled Huge waves. The Floating Gallows was tossed and rocked. As Gallomen looked over he saw the raft his love was on smashed agenst the rocks on the coast by a wave large enuff to shake the gods. And he knew she was dead. Gallowmen was tied up as the storm shook the boat. And he was thrown off the ship into the cold sea. Gallowmens love for the barmaid was so strong he broke free of the ropes and began to swim to the island in hope she may be alive. The Floating Gallows was pushed further out to sea but Gallowmen made it to land and he ran to the rocks and found his dieing love layed across some stones. He held her in his arms and wept as she died. Now Gallowmen a shell of a man lives on the island where his love died that day. The island of Fredian.
