I had hoped that one of our IC bards who were present would run up an IC version of events, but since they have not, I will be compiling a sem-accurate report from Matt Briar's perspective. Anyone that wishes to add their IC takes below it is welcome to!

Memoirs of Matt Briar
For days men had been disappearing. Our strongest trackers, hunters, and fighters were going out to patrol and not coming home again.
I had resolved that I would send to King Wend for aid. our guard has been so thin since the opening of the Clevian front..
Then last night the Sorenson twins disappeared from their cradles in the dead of night. We all turned out to search, but we found no traces but some blood signs and remains that might have once been human.
It occurred to me that perhaps that murdering half orc was linked to this, and speak of the devil there was Vugor with a gorup of others. Thank the gods, though for Sir Xiloscient! He agreed to lead them on a search. With such capable leadership, I felt more at ease than I have in days.
Though I did not accompany them, I summarize what was found, and record my rejoicing that at least young Jill Sorenson is home safe.
Sir Xiloscient accompanied by a group of adventurers set off to search the last area where I had found blood signs before the rain obliterated them. There they discovered an elf with an infant running toward the entrance to the underground area in the Forest of Darkness.
They ventured into that place and discovered there the lair of Wendigo. I had thought it a myth for the barbarians of the frozen wastelands, but it would seem that the demon is real. The Great Cannibal Spirit had come to prey onus and infect the minds of others forming a faithful legion to hunt out for his feasts the strongest and purest.
What came after holds much confusion for me, as you see Miss Stonecliff reported that those accompanying Sir Xiloscient fell into cannibal frenzies, but I have had no solid corroboration of this. Surely the goodly Knigth would not have permitted such to pass...
They banished Wendigo back to his frozen hell, but alas only baby Jill Sorenson survived. So many we lost, and so much we have to grieve for.
*addended in the margin*
Mrs Sorenson has reported a most odd thing to me that seems to be relevant to this...after the war party had gone its way, a small group of those that braved Wendigo's lair came to her and gave her money for the support of little Jill and to comfort the families who lost their fathers, brothers, husbands, and sons. The half orc Vugor was among these and most generous. I do not know if this is atonement or not, but it seems worthy to note. The money will pay for the help we will need in harvest and to get us all past a hard season...
