Part 1.
A darkened hut is suddenly lit by starlight as a tall figure, dark and hooded, with what appears to be large wings flat against his robe enters.
"Reman, what is the meaning of waking me at this hour?"
A strange man, but not a man, also with wings, turns to greet the visitor, " Ahh, Carralus, not too late for us my friend".
"Friend is it now?, you presume too much Reman, speak your mind!, and be quick with it!!"
"As you wish, your majesty" he leers in the darkness at the corner, "I have the spells ready, are you prepared for the consequence of this?"
"Consequences are for the weak Reman, we shall live beyond all the others!, when are we to do this?"
Reman walks closer to his King, "This night, your majesty, make sure those meddlesome clerics are cloistered in their rooms!"
"Yes yes Reman, I know, they are, taken care of" The King smiles slyly, and walks back out.
Up the hill he walks into the tower, reaching the portal room in Reman's Tower he speaks the command to take him to his throne room.
Meanwhile in Reman's hut, the wizard has completed preperation for the latest of his plots. "Enough time", he says, "Foolish Carralus, tonight, I take what is MINE!!!!!!"
With a gesture and the encantation Reman begins his spells " Tr-af, Meg-a-Ftha L-reth, GrATH, Uy-Luf, GRat, BnTH, FRA!!!!!!!" as he completes the last utterance, the very air goes still, darkness descends across Clevian and spreads out over all of Nardiar, and the ground beneath Reman's feet shudders as if the very world was being torn assunder.
In his Throne room Carralus looks about in terror first, then rage, "Reman!!!!!!!!!!!!" he yells at the top of his lungs, and runs for the portal room. Taking the portal back to Reman's library, he runs back down the snowy hills to Reman's hut and rushes inside just as the final climatic tearing of the very fabric of his world occurs.
Both Reman and Carralus are thrown to the ground, and darkness overcomes them.
Away in Styne, meanwhile Prince Wend who has been visiting from Castille, home of his family, looks up into the sky as he leaves court for the day. He also is thrown to the ground.
Many hours pass, many days... both Reman and Carralus awaken, as does young Prince Wend many miles away.
Carralus shakes the dust off, and clears his head.
Carralus looks at Reman, "You crazy demented wizard, you did it!, why did you not wait for me?"
Reman stands, props himself on his broken table and looks over at his disheveled leige.
"Your presence was a minor requirement your majesty"
He strokes his head, and feels for cuts, finds none, and looks pointedly at the King, " Shall we go look?"
Reman leads the way, and Carralus follows him out the door of the hut, what they see outside shocks them both, even though, they planned this for many years, the reality is far more than they expected.
Around them is an expanse of water, the ground is torn and pitted, torn from it's native world, there is no land now west of Reman's hut.
Meanwhile, back in Styne, young Prince Wend is shaken awake by a worried man servant, " Your highness, ahh, thank goodness, you are awake, we were worried about you, after that earthquake and all, one of the knights found you unconcious in the courtyard".
Young Merrick tries to rise off the bed, manages to stand briefly, but sits back down.
"Oh thank you, yes, yes.. I am fine now, what time is it?"
"Almost night, 70 days from when the earth shook highness"
"70 Days you say?, I see, very well, thank you, I shall leave for Castille at once, I need to see what father and mother are up to".
"Of course highness, there is food and drink out on the table if you want to take that with you".
Young Merrick grabs the food and goblet of juice and heads for the temple of Tyr, which he finds in disrepair great splits in the walls, and also of the castle of Wayne behind it. He enters, nods to Zacho, strange character that never seems to age, and steps into the portal to call Castille.
Back on the edge of what once led further west, and south, Reman turns to Carralus.
"Well, it is as I designed!, we have been seperated from Nardiar, and the world".
Reman looks back over his shoulder at where Clevian stands, "I suppose I should go and look at my Castle".
Turning and heading up the hill again, Carralus walks once again into a now slightly battered wizards tower, and heads once more for the library of Reman, and his portal.
