I think that's RP for you. If the theif isn't detected he keeps what he stole. I think that if you get all your gear stolen you'll keep a better eye out later & perhaps catch the theif next time. Personally I would rather have my gear stolen than be killed again.

In reference to pick pocket check, bump to addicted or Samius, maybe one of them can come up with scripting that stop the PP via scripts beyond presaid per day limit.

If it ain't a problem, don't fix it. PPing comprises very few issues in a daily complaint list. Most of the time it is accidental level violations rather than an actual complaint that it happens. If you script it, some of the harmless uses of PP will be disabled, ie PP'ing the raise dead scrolls out of your buddy's pack to raise him (*gives meaningful Tisi glare in Vugor's non-scroll carrying direction*). It also prevents you from being able to try to steal a specific item and give back the rest, ie house keys

Mitz, good if it was true, sad fact is, players in general have an attitude in two ways in my experience.
Reaction a: PK/deal with it themselves, leading to possible breaking of server rules.
Reaction b: leave.
Therefor, it is easier to have players modify their stock issues of say a raise scroll on them all, than to rely on honesty and or report of PP in excess.

Pickpocketing was a real issue before W Styne became No PvP. I saw many thieves that kept stealing from others in that area. One good example I know of was when Karl was sitting near the fireside and he clearly stated ooc that he was not RP'ing or in the mood for anything, yet most of his stuff was lifted right out from under his nose. So I think because W Styne became No PvP, the pickpocketing attempts have decreased.

I try hard not to break that with the exception of the KeHaar book and OOC raises. BTW, I usually do carry a half-dozen raises - you caught me a day or 2 after an event that I used them all up and had forgotten to restock:)

Theres an old saying, its only a crime if you get caught, i can spam pp you and take everything in your inventory with 1 pass by exploiting game mechanics, it opens up too much room for abuse. Same goes with the craft halls, if it was full pvp, you wont find anyone making any weapons of renown or antique armor because as soon as you do i can 100% assure you someone will steal it once you do make it. It also opens up grief opportunities, mostly with level 1-5 characters since its the only shop with basic equipment and its the closest area to work on craft skills.
Its not fun being being level 1 and getting hit by a flesh to stone for a good 30 minutes (if seen this happen too, someone came apon an RP going on, and someone didnt like the low level there so they did flesh to stone and just left them)

Darlin' I think you are borrowing trouble we don't have. If we do have this kind of trouble I expect to hear about it immediately with names attached. I know of one thief that has broken the level restrictions recently and he apologized and returned everything he took. As for the craft halls and the temple (prior to change in actual script) it is common throughout history for there to be areas of sacred truce. These included areas of commerce, temples of worship, museums, holidays, and hospitals. Consider there to be a sacred Peace of the Temple, Treaty of the Commons, and Truce of the Forge in place on Fredian. RP around it, I know I have. It is the only reason that Mala and Xilo have exchanged civil words since he betrayed her those long RL months ago.
