I think that is best handled in it's own subject Phoenix. Perhaps Silentus would like to run an election of militia (guards) vote subject? And if they are elected you better bet they will have the power to jail perps soon.

Speaking as a deep Gnome, their top priest and their highest level adventure(what favor).?? ??? Hehehe, you really think Ranestadt would elect Getty as their spokesman? I think they would have insurmountable problems with you, when it comes to your personal viewpoints in relation to theirs ;) As irrelevant as my comment is to the nominal topic of 'jurisdiction' I have to throw this in: in my understanding a character's race has little to no bearing on their political ties in Fredian, given that *by definition* all PCs arrived here nearly naked and definitely scared from some other place. As we all come from somewhere else and were thrown here for any number of reasons there is no reason to expect that locals of your species would go out of their way to cultivate political contact with you let alone attempt to curry favour... just as Hanah isn't the grand matron of Cara Unscathe (to provide a suitably ludicrous example). Oldies, am I totally misunderstanding here? Hanah ... can barely handle being 'grand matron' of her own house

Oops forgot to vote:-)
1b 2bcdm 3bcdm
EDIT: oh, just had a thought: option 'b' for 2 and 3 is 'inside all businesses and residences'... I would like to specify that businesses and residences *within the boundaries described by options 'c', 'd', and 'm'... which would mean that homes/businesses that fall outside these domains (for example, Habib's desert shop or a residence like Karl or Mackenzie's, out in the wilds) are therefore not included in questions 2 and 3. I'm sorry if this makes your statistics ugly Silentus, but I thought this was worth pondering.

Hrm. Good point. What if read "all business and homes located withing the accepted areas" So it only covers those areas inside the areas you vote for. So if Whillem and home are accepted then Whillem homes are covered but not Desert ones.
This could fork the question a little, but I think the intent is as I restated it. I don't think the homes and businesses we are talking about are ones outside the stated areas... Clarification, Silentus?
edit: and with regard to Getty/gnomes/local characters, there are several characters that are role playing as Fredian born, Getty isn't the first, I have met several. If this really needs to be discussed it should be in another thread, but I think it's perfectly reasonable that some characters could be locally born. There are children of characters, they were born here, no?

Egads, I go on vacation for a few days and it all gets confused 1. Some of our problem here was that Makz didnt quite catch that the Knights HAVE been voted to be Judge, jury and executioner FOR NOW. That was by general consensus a while ago, hopefully that get revised later, but initially it will stick, they will just have a bit less control over sentancing. 2. The reason for reporting crimes vs aprehending was primarily for NON-knights reporting crimes. IE If Silentus reports to a knight that a crime has occured at a particular area, will the knights say "Too bad, cant do anyhting about that" That in turn made me thing, ok, well if they can refuse an area, can they apprehend a criminal in all areas? I dont know, so I posed it to you. 3. The reason for Inside, was basically for homes. I figured if there are some places where we dicide the knights dont really protect, should citizens still expect that they can be safe in thier own homes there. Some of this was for game balance, I want the bad types to have safe havens, but I also think that citizens should be able to have some protection. 4. If you want SPECIFIC questions addressed, Please post them here with exact wording and I will consider putting it forth to the rest. Ive been gather ing alot of data and dont cherish dragging it out more if we dont have to but I dont know that I am supplying all the questions that need answering either.
