Evil will always win because good is dumb. I agree there is definatly something the middle, but that's my whole point, why did this happen? Because everyone RPs a little different, we can't hold others to our standards, everyone has their own PoV in a RP, things happen in real time, et cetra... Roll with it, if things are not 100% correct we tried for the most part. Some better than others at it than others...

I wasn't there from the start, but I entered at the time everyone was running after each other. I also witnessed the part where Genesis was killed. The RP that was broken, was the stake mala(?) put through the heart of Genesis. Enter Phoenix and the ressurrection. A nice discussion started right after. From a HCR PoV, the stake would have implied permanent death for Genesis. How can you possibly ressurrect a vampire, especially when it's dusted with a stake through the heart? On the other hand, Island of Fredian doesn't use HCR, and vampires are not implemented.
Do I have a point i am leading to? I don't know, maybe it's this: The idea for the event I really liked, but I think some rules should have been made prior to the event. As Phoenix said, everyone RP's a little different. What are the Fredian Vampires' vulnerabilties? I have seen a lot of them running through the sunlight. Can the Fredian Vampires be put to permanent death? What are the abilities, and how will they be handled in RP?

Personally as I told a couple of people, Fredian vampires have a limited life span I think this particular idea of cartoonic's should dribble to a stop soon. Makz.

Well even from a HCR prespective, you have to catch the vampire first, not kill them then stake them. If you kill them they turn to gaseous form and return to their coffin. Even if you catch them they can still turn gaseous, so you have to handle that too. I believe that is in the PnP books, not too sure. It's very difficult to kill a vampire, unless, of course, you have access the their coffin.
But these are yet more reasons the PR is iffy, there is no benefits (because there are no mechanics in the game) for vampires like their gaseous form ability, which could have been handy for Genesis at that point in the RP.

I'm not even going to bother commenting on the vampire....stuff. I just wanted to offer a possible solution to Phoenix's question about what he could have done differently, to help us all out 4 the next time something like that happens. In my experience, it has always worked out best if someone walking in on RP in progress were to say "OOC: I just walked in (invisible, hidden, etc), what does my character see?" Also, no one is to perform any further IC actions until the OOC situation has been communicated. It's sort of like calling 4 a time-out so everyone knows exactly what's going on. If someone were to, say, place a sword in the questioners chest, they would be subject to possible DM sanctions 4 attacking someone who was OOC.
Today's suggestion was brought to you by: The letter "O" The number "4" And Your Public Broadcasting Shwabbaman

As I said before, I couldn't get the chance, for the last hour or so before that I was attacked on sight (by more than one person) whenever I entered town. Because these people would attack, the rest of the people in the area were joining. I wasn't able to get one word in before I got attacked, at least I couldn't the last few times I entered town just before that.
Honestly I don't like the idea of attack on sight because there are down sides, but there are perfectly good RP reasons, so I won't complain about it either.
edit: I have talked to Kline about having "ooc moments" like this, kinda a time out to resolve issues. I think this is an excellent idea, in fact I have done it before. When Mack was rescuing someone from Genesis and Phoenix he tried to attack, with someone in his arms. We all stopped for a minute, he put up his shield (needed that arm for the body) and made a str check to see if he could hold on and attack.
It worked well, the only downside, which I really didn't care about, is time expired while this happened. That meant some of my spells wore off while discussing this. But I would rather see it played well and have my spells wear off than played poorly.
