well cartoonic, nice idea of vampires, it was really cool the idea.... but (i always hate butts) i think it got a bit out of hand and well some people was breaking the most basic of rules, such as day light, vampires will disintergrate in the sun, holy water is like hydrochloric acid to vampires of which mack threw at you.
i was then bitten in daylight as pero, the aspect of pero a vampire halfling is pretty cool, anyway vampires bight for 2 reasons 1) feeding to feed its a simple bite, you just need to make a melee touch attack really, or normal attack roll
2) shyring, this is a process where vampires while convert another being into a vampire to do this a vampire has to kill the subject and drink friutifally on there carcass so they might raise as vampires
so you'd have to actually kill the person.
so any ideas what to do about this little mess up?
my idea is we set some ground rules about vampires, and what about the events earlier? with all the people running arround biting? any ideas?
im quite happy to be a converted halfling, it will make good roleplay muhahahaha
anyway your opinions, and makz if you want to introduce vampires properely could you please lay some ground rules about it, i dont want it getting out of hand like that again, though it was funny it gets tiresome

Totally agree... Playing a vampire well is very hard...
And I fear I have seen a lot more bad player playing vampires than good ones...
I was actually disapointed to see that Genesis was a vampire. I will wait to see how it goes but so far... Nothing to say... even if I saw him in plain daylight chatting away.
In fact I usually dislike vampire players they tend to make themselve over powerful and say it is because they are vampires.
But let's see... And spells like sunlight should hurt VAmps A lot harder... No cure EXPESIALLY no heal...
Because that would in fact harm you...
Only very good roleplayer should attempt this...

On this subject i would say this morning didn't go to out of hand i'm sorry if it seemed that way to some people, but also if you think of it logically a vampire made in the daylight would be like getting born in the light, so you would be naturally use to the light if you are created in it. Also the rules are simple for me, Don't make it look like PKing Do not continue killing NPCs Do not piss players off diliberatly ect That is my main rules for been a vampire
Cartoonic.

Ok well you have to remember it is a game people come on. Hara is a vampire. She was a vampire long before any of this ever started. She does not come out into the daylight, that is true. But she does use heal potions I act like they are harm potions though. Sorry the game will not let me make a real vampire.
You ever she Hara in the daylight...no... Although it is hard sometime because she is a crafter and sometimes I get all caught up in what I am doing and forget to look at the time. Would Hara not see and feel the sun coming up though, sure she would and she would go hide in the caves or in a cozy house from one of her new victims.
What I am trying to say is just be nice eveyone and everything will be fine. I had this module once that said on page one kill the PCs here and make sure they die. I tried to play that module 8 times but could never get past page 1 because of the gripping, little did they know that it was all part of the adventure and if they would have gone along with it the rewards would have been great. And I read the module severeal times it really is a great module oh well. Me and Phoenix have to deal with a lot of crap ok we know we are the villains on the server and that villians always lose. That means me and phoenix always lose. We do this for the fun of all. What is it to have a great heros out there without a great villian and a stupid sidekick. I get called names all day and attacked on sight and have all my stuff stolen from me all the time. I deal with it. It is just part of being evil. Playing the evil person in this world is kind of like being a DM but harder. I have to see in every person what they are like and decide if they are a RPer or not and how much of a RPer they are then from there I can decide if this is a person I can play with or not. It is a very fine line tring not to unset people when you are evil. I pay an evil person because I thought that is what this server needed someone that was evil. If you do not want this I can always go back to playing a paladin.( it would be alot easier, but then who would be your bad guys the bad guys that act good all the time not to metion names or anything Sir Damie..... oops almost said someones name..hehehehe) This server needs a true paladin. Maybe I can show some of you how a paladin is played. Paladins are not evil and do not kill people over chickens or attack people with no weapons or steal even off a dead body.

Yes Kline you are right...
I agree with (except the heal...) get the feat and face the consequences that this is not something commonly found.
I also agree that paladins don't kill... they tend to try to get you to see you the evil of your way.
But then it's not like they can just say I deal subdual damage now...

Ok so I was on the server... and I met my first VAmpire...
YAY me...
She talk trash and was controling... insunated that she was gonna drink someone... and then when I high level try(in rp to get her attention away) strated to argument about the rules and when he lost patience and killed her... (she said"I'll report you for low-level killing)
I think it should be clear to many vampire players out there...
YOU are not the ultimate lords of the underdark...
Most of you are level 1... that means you are running away from good char trying to survive at this point...
I don't think anyone that is level one should be giving me or any level above me attitude(and I am pretty yougn in season).
Especially a creature that is considered UNDEAD and that has probably not civil rights in styne...
I mean there has to be a bad side to be a vampire... Otherwise Why aren't we all vamps... and I mean since daylight isn't it...(wich made me loose a lot of respect for the event to begin with) and they get a bunch of immunities but none of the restriction...(and don't make me type the vampire description from the monster manual...cause there is a ton of them)
The reputation and the no civil right of VAmpires should be in effect...
I am sorry but any cleric and paladin that respect him/herself should be turning those puppy into dust right now... before they take us over...(that even includes Hanna *winks*)
I mean please guys make it a little fun for the good guys... Cause right now all it is too me is a bunch of low level running around telling me they will own my soul soon... (I am sorry but my char has a quick cure for that, it's a stake...) But she can't cause that would break the rule #4... And they would report us...
Ok some of that was venting... but I think I made the point clear... the vamps need a healty dose of respect from the hordes of good citizen of Styne... and should start to act there levels...

Here is my take on the recent events regarding vampires.
The daylight thing is a bit impractical in this world as in gametime terms you would be in and out of the scene every few minutes, so that is a shade impractical. Perhaps an underground restriction in RP terms would be better.
I liked the Vampire angle, but, it was a bit frantic in the end. The whole experience would have benefited from a bit more subtlety. There were some excellent RP opportunites missed through a mass of fighting and running.
Genesis started out very well and drifted into a running killing machine, My best interactions with him were one on one and covert activities.
There was a fantastic Evil plot brewing that was diluted by these actions, sadly, For one moment I had an opprtunity to RP the evil community, the next I was battling against them and the Knights...To see Saul and Mackenzie fighting side by side made me sigh, I really tried to make the Evil side a bit more structured.
Genesis, Please do not give up on this, I enjoyed our one to one RP, you did that so well, Don't be put off by the events that surrounded it.
Congratulations to Lirry for giving me the funniest moment of the weekend too..You are a scream...To see a rotating Lirry saying *Stands grinning bearing his fangs*...mad me enjoy the experience .
I hope my points are alright, I would dearly like the Evil RP to get back on track, it was working really well without any PKs. There is so mucch depth in the Evil community that lies untapped, I really enjoy playing in this arena...Please, lets make it a bit more of a challenge for our Knights...They will pretty much always get us in the end via melee fighting, we can use different methods.

One thing I know, cartoonic is my son and a teen, subtle is not on the average teen agenda LOL... I talked to him about it briefly though, and told him to look at what a vampire is properly etc... instead of making it up as he goes But, I would rather not have vampires taking over Fredian in anyway, so...keep it all in perspective people. Makz.

To be fair to him, He was very subtle in one to one play, so don't be too harsh on him...

I agree the vampire bit was an excellent idea, however, it didn't quite go according to plan. It got a bit chaotic like it was when Frost was viceroy. Kind of a shame since it had potential. Well, time to wait and see what will happen next in our crazy little world

Meet Genesis didn't get into much trouble... he didn't give me a speach about how he was gonna take over and how we were all doomed...He was subtle and understood he can't just walk into town and annouce how he was running around rampaging into town. I mean all evil organization and beings have to "earn" the right to be the Utimate plague... they can't be at level one... Just like a good char they have to be humbled by their level... And the daylight thing is not the only restriction a vampires has and that is because for all the good stuff a vamp gets they have to be balanced...(I mean the resting in their graves only... Like to see you roleplay that...)(Unable to cross running water...)( the garlic thing(and I suggest an NPC trying to sale the stuff at skyrocketing price (And not being able to go into a home without an invitation) But I think that the fact that vampires are undead need to be adress... I mean do the laws of styne really protect Vampires... They get the immunities and Atrribute but not the weakness to holy magic and sunburst... or the chance to be turn by preists... Ok I think everybody know that banning has been one of my "sensible" subject... I was really upset at a threath for low-level abuse by that girl I met. I mean when to manipulate Damien or Aviar... and one of them would see through my scheme and kill me for it... I didn't go ("I'll report you") I face the fact that I failed... I am just saying if you want to be bad(it's all good...) but face a bit of the consequence without telling "i'll report you" And that vamp later told me ooc she is half celestial...I really want to know how a creature who has protection from evil 3 times a day and is the epiphany of good got to be crossed...

Cartoonic I saw what was happening and yes it got a bit out of hand. But it was so good, I even kind of saw what was going to happen at the end the good guys win and the vampires are driven out of town forever. That kind of stuff. Oh well just keep trying it will all work out. I was wondering though everyones point on this, if something like what happened happens again can we just go back and do over? I really wanted to finish that adventure and see how it all worked out. For the people that where not there. They had the Vampire all chained up and a stake in his heart and they where cutting off his head. Then Phoenix comes in and says that he cutts the chains and frees the vampire. The Vampire then gets up and starts running(forgetting about his binds and the stake through his heart and that his head is hanging half way off). Sorry but stuff happens people forget and get carried away sometimes including me. Would it be OK if in the future that if this happens again we stop time and go back? Phoenix was off the screen at the time and did not see that they had him staked and where cutting off his head. The game should have stopped there so everyone could explain exacly what is going on OOC. Then Phoenix could have said something like grabs the vampires body and starts to runn. Knowing now that the vampire could not run on his own. But Phoenix did not know this. The only way he could have known this is if everyone stopped for a min. to talk OOC. Oh well just my take on it.
