Your forgetting buffs, and the weapon bonus.
40+~4(bard song)+~12(weapons and specializations)+d20=76 max. Other spells to increase that as well since you can cast any scroll (use magic device).

That's still not enough, it's easy to get high AC on fredian so you won't hit many players or even high level monsters with that build... and only 3 attacks per round on a melee char?? Nah...

Its low, but not atrocious and can be raised enough to hit. The DC on D-Crit is 47, not bad at all. You don't need to hit a lot if they drop in one swing, so 3 attacks (+1 haste) isn't that bad.
Heck a straight priest gets 3 attacks/round, but has one of the highest ABs. High AB+good d-crit=lots of kills regardless of the number of swings.

Now, why don't you show us a character that will hit AC100 on a regular basis . Does that 4th attack really matter much? Yes, it is one more shot at a natural 20. But don't forget she has not only buffs...Curse Song also lowers your Attack rolls and AC. Only one Devastating needs to get through...and you won't be able to return the favor . But it's not about being able to hit everything. Or being the best at killing high level monsters or players. I enjoy playing this character. Just make sure you play the market by her Rules, and you will never have to find out how bad she really is in melee ;D.

It doesn't matter if I can't hit AC 100 if you can't hit me either, I have more attacks = more chance of rolling a 20. Also i'm not sure about my new character (only level 20 so far) but my other one could easily have fortitude as high as your dev crit DC if I changed some items around, so you would have to roll a 20 and then me roll a 1 at the same time Also think about this, you can't dev crit things you can't hit... Anyway.. why don't we just have a duel when our new characters are both 40?

I remember someone mentioned CoT builds a while ago so this is pretty much what mine is: 6 Pal/12 Cle/22 CoT I don't know too much about the way in which AB's stack, so this might not be the best way to do it. In any case: Starting stats are: 16 str, 8 dex, 8 con, 10 int, 15 wis, 16 cha One point will be put into wis to allow for level 6 spell access, and the rest into cha for divine might/shield boosting. I took half-celestial, so the small con and dex values won't really hurt. The access to heal, harm, and som other clerical spells will help out a bunch too. Level progression is 6 pal 10 cle 10 cot 1 cle 11 cot 1 cle 1 cot Feats will probably be along the lines of: 1 - Power Attack, Cleave 3 - Extra Smiting 6 - Divine Might 9 - Weapon Focus: Longsword 12 - Divine Shield 15 - Extend Spell 18 - Improved Critical, Extra Turning 20 - Great Cleave 21 - Great Charisma 1 22 - Great Charisma 2 24 - Great Charisma 3, Great Charisma 4 26 - Great Charisma 5 27 - Great Charisma 6 30 - Great Charisma 7 31 - Great Smite 1 33 - Great Charisma 8 35 - Great Smite 2 36 - Epic Weapon Focus: Longsword 39 - Toughness 40 - Great Smite 3 I may have made some mistakes in the planning, so feel free to criticize me.

So there is a small chance for a dirty kill...Maybe our sword fighting will last long enough for that to happen On Fredian, it is not so hard to raise all your saving throws by 20....it's just your AC that will take a hit... Sure. But if no one dies within 10 minutes we'll just have to call it even Just for backup, i'll bring a few harm scrolls and curse you to death ;D

How about a tourney? You can make a character for it or enroll one of your current ones (I will not give you levels). How about sometime in June? It will probably be a multi-day event. I'll organize it by just grabbing names of contestents and making a tourney chart. Then just interrupt people at any time while they're playing and have them do their duel and update the chart. There is no way I can get the number of contestants I want to stand around on the green and behave let alone wait through one 20 minute duel especially if it is between two monks. It would be 8+ hours to do everyone against everyone. Therefore, we have to do it this way. It's a "lazy system" (triggered by activity rather than triggering activity), but also gives more time for people to sit around in the tavern and RP out what they think about the next challenge or who looks like the winner. You can even rig the fights if you want, but no true powergamer will give up his seat of glory as the best and baddest for a measly bribe . If you win a category, I'm thinking about a genesis ring as a reward pending pre-approval from Makz first. Only one per-winner though. If you win multiple categories, then that is just more huzzah for you. For those of you who don't know, a genesis ring is an item carried by Damien Swift. You can win more than one category. Everyone must participate in Most Diversatile, since that is sort of the battle for the cup kind of thing. Categories: Most Diversatile(essentially has the most "wins" for the fights. Can beat up the most builds). Best Caster(best caster vs. caster dueling. A cleric can enroll only if they put away their weapon. Same for a druid, etc..) Best Grunt(Must be a melee weapon, no archers. Bard/Ranger/Paladin/Cleric/Druid buffs are ok, and you can have smiters, but if a cleric or druid wants ot participate they can only buff (no heal/harm/offense magic). Divine Favor and Divine Power etc.. OK. Dispel magic is legal, even if it is with a wand. Classes who want to use offensive magic should consider Best Caster, Fastest Killer, or Most Versatile. This is for the grunts!) Fastest Killer(for each win you have, the time it took you to win will be recorded. All your times will be added together and divided by the number of wins (hence, an average). The person who kills the fastest is the Fastest Killer. You have to have more than 4 wins to be eligible*. Killing 1 guy really quick and losing the rest does not make you the Fastest Killer * = may change with the number of people who show. Can go up or down. There may be some surprise events during the middle... A person can enroll multiple characters, but only one of them will get the genesis ring if they win a category. Even if you win all the categories between all your characters, you still only get one. Of course, that would be a lot of glory. I will be comparing people by CD-key, not login or gamespy names. Dishonesty forfeits all prizes you may earn. I'm posting this here instead of the DM-events thread because its not a DM-event yet. I want to see if there is a widespread enough interest first, and get the prizes approved (we're kind of concerned about how many unattainable items we have running around in the world)

Basically he is very hard to hit, can open any lock on the island, walks in and out of jail on a whim and has quite a few attacks a round.... he's small, he's fast, and he is better than a warped rogue (he used to go laugh at them ) on the downside, ventrick would get blown away by spells, but not always... you can't carry much with him, Magic bags are your best freinds... besides those things he is/was a formidable oppenent for most hope you like, pick away at it. tell me what I did wrong, I am *sure* it is not perfect and there is *always* room for improvment, but in my limited capacity building PC's this was about the best I came up with yet I think

Addicted, that tourney sounds great. Just a suggestion though, you said there are already a lot of unattainable items going around so how about leaving them out of these fights? I'm guessing they are unattainable for a reason... because they're too good? BTW, what does the genesis ring actually do?

BTW, what does the genesis ring actually do? Unattainable items? Like what? The old AoC is the only unatainable item and I don't think many, if anyone has it anymore, that isn't a DM now. It only had +5 more magic resist. All for a tourney myself.

I could have kept mine, but didn't, but I know some people did. I didn't like the fact Makz. let people keep them, could have just given them gold to recraft it, but that's his call.
Hell I would pay the crafting costs and craft the armour with Phoenix if anyone is willing to exchange it. That was the only good resaon given by players to keep it. Lets see if I get any offers...

The genesis ring is a level 40 item. That is all I have to say.
