Oh yes, and, I am currently doing my brief easy fix Saturday type work, small bugs etc... and doing the BIG compile so that the MOD is ready for CEP work at least for Monday. If I feel inclined though ad Salandra and I aren't busy this weekend, I *MAY* do some content work prior to that.

Ok gang the test server is up, I have done a fair bit of cosmetic work already. Also, have added various encounters in swamps, deserts and upper Fredian Mountains has the Ice Elementals. I will add more in as the week goes. What I want to know is the following.
1. How do the animations look of the creatures that are new.
2. How do the new placeables effect your play... if at all? ie: Big Tree in West Styne.
3. Ideas of things you would like to see in areas.
The server for testing is Makzimia's Bane CEP password is trolley. Direct connect is by 68.7.190.222:5122
Let's test these things.

I'm downloading it, as soon as it is done and installed (and hopefully doesn't destroy my OS) I will help to test it out.
Meroim needs kittens!

new animations are nice... fought various beasties, nice work... the trees in west styne are nice i must say, though there is a spacing issue with regards to the fire.... like you can't get between the fire and the tree (the prime real estate...) though maybe that will drive some sit arounds to castille who knows...
Oh and one more thing... i noticed that the emote wand does not work in the test server... it says item must be equipt ... bug? new change that i missed somehow?

1.New monsters are awesome. I didn't wander to the locations you posted, because I didn't see your post until just now. Buuut, I did see some monsters toon threw at us. Very nice. Lloth and Vecna were interesting, though a tad weak. ^.^ 2. Sorry, as soon as I logged in toon took me to the harbor, arrgh shiver me timbers, and introduced me to the pirates. I only got a 5 second look at W. Styne. I'll check again tonight before the DM event. 3. Oh my, let it soak in, in fact I need to look at the CEP locally to see what all is in there to make a 1/2 brained suggestion. Lots I'm sure... I did notice that my rod of res. didn't work, I didn't try the emote wand. Oh and toon just about made my wife cry, he dropped in a kitten and I said 'hey look,' so she does. Then toon killed the kitten, and the animation made him fall over dead, of course I was zoomed when that happened. ;D

I have to admit, looking at the screenshots that R1de posted, it does look really yummy, and if its stable, I'm all for it. So I voted yes. I do have concerns though.... 1)- What about any new people wanting to come to the server? Will they be put off by the 180MB d/l for CEP before they can even start to play in Fredian? 2)- Modem users are pretty much in BIG trouble, unless someone to send them a CD with CEP on. 3)- 'If it aint broke, why fix it?' Is a favorite saying of mine...the server is VERY stable at the moment...and we all love it....will CEP affect this in a negative way? Having said that...'I' am downloading it as I post this ....and anybody in UK that has trouble getting the d/l just send me an IM, and I'll see about sending you it via transfer. Or a CD via snail mail if anyone is over here and using a 56K to reach the server. (Lucky for them if they can )

FYI from the CEP FAQ
I have a 56K modem - can I get CEP on CD? (Back to Top)
[CEP Team]: We're looking into this. A CD distribution system might not be in place when we do our initial release but we are actively looking at it. Also note that one of our key testers downloaded 8 different beta versions of the CEP over dialup! It is generally best to do this overnight and with software that supports restarting a download where it left off.
In response to the new dialup user question, I'd bet a lot of servers will use the CEP, so that may just be a pill every has to swallow.

First of all, thank you to those that have been coming on the test server and helping, and sticking up with my very enthusiastic son's things he is such a good boy helping out his dad. Ok, as expected after my initial peruse through things and initial tests now... the CEP is holding it's own... having said that with only up to 6 players on... it's a little difficult to really say if anything would cause say, lag or issues under pressure... I doubt it though. The test server is 1GB short on RAM over the main one and only a 2.26GHZ compared to a 2.8GHZ, however looking at initial CPU / IO charting all seems well. I have gone around today and made a lot of additions mostly visual... please check North Styne and Inner Styne Castle, Castille Gates near the fountains... Fredian South Coast Bay <--- this in particular was one of my favourites.. by placing grass tiles down then sand on top, I was able to make a beach and beach a ship on it... and there are various wrecks and pieces down there that give it a nice atmosphere. VERY time consuming stuff, it is 10:21am here and I have not done what I have normally done by this time of day, and I am still about an hour from getting on the server as a result... but oh well... progress and I enjoy the results... and I hope you all will also. Cheers, Makz.

Most bugs don't show until use in a live environment, atlhough the test server is still a good precursor.
If it does go live, I know Makzimia well enough that he will most definitely keep a backup copy of the mod in case he decides to throw it out. For source synchronization purposes, I would probably not send any development updates (unless he imported it on both copies of the mod) until CEP proves itself.
I'm a little stuck development wise because my wife is using the other comp to do her homework for a new class she is in. We ordered another machine...... when I get that thrown together I might be going somewhere again... Fortunately, to my knowledge, there are no critical issues out.

Makz, might it be a good idea to have a specific "Test CEP" session? Just a set date/time to request that all those interested in CEP log on - so that you can get an idea how it deals with real load. If you dont, alot of people (like me) may jump on to check it out, but if they dont stay on long, you will likely not get more than that 6 or so. Heck , you could even make it an event with a plot or race or something as it seems as if it uses our live characters (at least it seemed to as I started in my last logged off location).
Just a thought.

Fridays and Saturdays are the big days, maybe do a verbal request on main server and everyone who goes over to "stress test" the test server for an hour (unless stresses out sooner) gets a free toy for their primary character on the main server afterwards. I'ld like an ultimate yellow cloak (those 3 words make Ore Minersmith cringe), or maybe a stack of 5 raise dead scrolls, something everyone can use if they choose to, saves them gold, and won't unbalance things.
I finally got onto the test server and saw three new things of notice so far, kitten (just found it when I had to leave), swaying plants by the castle in Inner Styne (even with my system configured for fast [low graphics]), and the ice cubes, I mean goloms in the upper fredian mountains.
