OK Gang, I am always the first to admit when I make hasty statements so, this is not a first for me anyway, after downloading installing and testing the CEP locally... I have a number of conclusions.
1. It is a small footprint change to a MOD as it like any other content in the toolset only adds to the size of the MOD with what is used of it.
2. There are bugs... small though, and avoidable simply by not using that content. These include bad image/scale and placeable building that can't have a door, but could be handy for DM made on the spot village/war front.
3. The executable version of the CEP is nice and easy for players to get and use, if they desire.
4. A lot of the placeable buildings, items and additional content would make Fredian a much more diverse place over time. And with DLA content coming for tilesets etc in the future... well the additional content there will be very nice also, think mountains that are slopes instead of staggered square rises.
Now for my concerns. I am concerned for people like Nat and Hanah who are on Linux and Mac respectively. As well as that concern, I am also concerned for the modem users getting a copy of CEP, I know some would download it overnight, but I am wondering if we offered it on a CD for those that cannot, would that help those?
I leave to you all, I am willing to take the risk of trying it... the test server will need to have a fair amount of you give it a try over the week it would be up, and I would move current DB over to it but not back afterwards, so any advances you made with PC's in anything on test server would be lost.
Now vote!!!
