is it the wrong media error, like when winblows is trying to access a certain disc and you remove it.... is the installer *completely* finished using the first disc when you insert the 2nd?
I don't know anomaly.... sounds wierd, but most winblows problems are just that, wierd... um.. if you get anymore info post it here, eh.
or if I think of anything else I'll post it here too....
*edit* ooop just had another idea... is it the "autoplay" BS maybe doing that Anomaly?

I have no real idea what is wrong as the bigger stuff has been covered, before you consider buying a new CD though, you might try these:
1. If the disk has a bad spot, you probably will not be able to simply copy it to a directory on your hard drive. If you can, you MIGHT be able to tell the installer to look for the CD in that directory and install from there. I havnt run the installer lately and tis frequently doesnt work, but may be worth a try.
2. If it doenst give you the option but you were able to copy the cd to the HD, you might be able to use an app like virtual cd to make it think that dir is a CD drive. Lotta hassle and it still may fail if it is a winblows config problem, but just throwing possible stuff at you.
3. If the disk has a bad spot, you probably will not be able to install it on another persons HD. As a dignostic step it might be worth doing to verify the disk is bad - hate to buy a replacement just to find out that the problem was your PC and now you are either stuck with thte software or a 15% restock fee.

ok... lets go back to the basics here for a minute.... can you can play/read/do anything else with *any* other CD? the NWN cd's are visually free from defects? it's all connected properly inside the system? (master/slave all that?)' have you (can you) try another CD drive in that system? you said that NWN is/was already installed before the winblows reinstall right? have you tried to just run that copy? ----- ok as far this goes, um... I'm not sure yet (I did find two instances of this exact thing online, one is in russian ) and from those other posts it seems like you *may* be able to get around it by doing a minimal install.... Silentus' ideas might work as well

I vote for the hammer, but push come to shove if you think it is a bad CD, I can burn you a copy for use with your own CD key and drop it in the mail...the CD keys are unique, the disks are not.
