Nothing stops Timestop... Absolutely... Nothing... Not a SR of 72 ((Uber Monks)) .. Not unlimited Greater Spell Mantles (Damien Swift))... If the mage cast it... he gets 9 seconds of kill time.. Period. ((there is always counterspelling though =P)) And the whole... Timestop/IGMS thing... is not a problem.. The timestop is a problem... I have seen many other Timestop/<insert anything> spams before... Timestop is the only thing "cheese" of that equation. Every other spell has some way to stop it... Harm... Shadow shield and neg energy prot.... IGMS ...Armor of the Creator and another armor I wont name.. ((27 lvl req btw)) Quite true that in a real pvp fight IC timestops would fly... but whoever wins by spaming 6-7 timestops is not much of a winner... Xilo has 2 timestops always prepared... but only as a last ditch escape.. and never has he ever atacked another PC while time is "stoped" If you haven't guessed by now... I am 100% for no holds bared fighting... with the one exception of... that wonderful spell.. Timestop. Well there is 1 way of really stopping timestop, you have to be immune to the spell school of transmutation... I haven't seen any of those items around on fredian though.

There is no way to stop Time Stop *on fredian*. As there was once a craftabe item that gave Immune to transmutation spells but that was removed a *long* time ago.. Ohh and .. ehh.. I'm not argueing.. becuase you cannot argue with the fact that Timestop is unstopable. ((Its quite funny watching Mys. Mien. abuse the crap outa Timestop. He just loves keeping ppl fully "out of time" and sneak attacking at his leasure..))

So you're saying Phoenix couldn't even touch a high level monk... not even a chance without epic spells, that's what it looks like to me. *EDIT* Oh I forgot to say the monk would need a few improved spell resistance feats. About the timestop, well I would say most people don't use it in duels, same with harm, but maybe i've just been in too many "friendly" fights which I like more anyway, no point getting angry that you died Also your tactics for beating TS, what are they? The only tactic I can think of is being immune to the spell school of transmutation, or at least resisting it somehow... OK, couple of things, yes Phoenix can hit the uber monk build with magic, its very hard, but possible. Here is the calculation. 45 is my base +d20=max of 65, a little short. If I cast Greater Disjunction it lowers your SR by 10. 73-10=63, that only give me a 10% chance to hit (any people complain about TS, what about a person that is 85% resistant to a 40th level caster and immune to and caster lower than 37th?) About defeating TS, There are several tactics here are two... The uber immune monk is one. OK, so time is stopped, if he can't hit you otherwise who cares? Hit points and heal. If you have a lot of HPs and get a heal off in the middle of TS/offensive spell combo the mage will likely run out of A. Timestops, or B. offensive spells. Wizards are limited to ~25 offensive spells, not all of which can hurt all people, so take a few off if your immune to X elemental damage. About why nothing should be nerfed... In 1on1 PvP some classes/builds are weak to others and simply CANNOT defeat them with any amount of equipment, this is fair. Why? Because whatever class/build you are weak to has it's own weaknesses, you just may not be able to capatilize on that. Take the rogue for example, these builds often require a second person attacking to get their backstabs off. If the opponent has true sight in a 1on1 PvP the rogure will not get their backstabs and lose miserably. Some builds do defy this, so it's not a blanket statment. Anyways, 1 on 1 PvP isn't always a fair fight some characters really shine in the right party, something people often forget about. Again, K.I.S.S., there is a reason the server doesn't nerf these spells. Two men enter, one man leaves!
