Hi All,
some of you will know I was suffering a really sore watery eye last night. Thanks Hanah for your advice, sadly it is not either an alergy or anything in my eye.
3 nights ago I developed a pain in my neck just below my left ear, over the 2 days I went to the dentist and had deep scaling, following which my eye started the troubles, and last night I noticed I was having difficulty drinking properly, spilling it out the side of my mouth, and that my eyes and mouth were off centre.
This morning, it is worse, my speech is slightly slurred and I have accute sensitivity to sounds in my left ear, a slightly runny nose.
These are all classic symptons of Bell's Palsy, and I found working in the toolset this morning very hard with my eyes both being effected one watery and sore, other one blinking from nerves not working right.
So, if you do not see me on much that is why, I also, won't get much done. The good news is that in a lot of cases improvement occurs usually within 2 weeks of it, and is gone completely within 3 months, in outside cases some of it never goes away. I am trying to be positive about it, but my first reaction was anger because of how stupid it makes me feel.
This will not effect the upcoming party in August, I intend that to go ahead, and I hope those of you that wanted to come still can. It will just effect my work.
Thank you to all who are supporters of my work and regulars that make my and my teams creation alive.
Makz.

My Dad had this... I know how you feel, it can be a scary thing at times. But not to nag or anything, what is your diet like? Do you exercise much? How are your stress levels? My Dads Bells Palsy was induced by 8 kids, a screaming wife, tons of salt (even in his coffee!), and financial problems. He recovered after a few weeks, but the "leaky eye" syndrome sometimes can be an annoyance. He is currently eating better and getting out and walking a bit for exercise and is doing great. The best thing for you right now is exactly what you said, take it easy for awhile. Updates can wait I am confidant you'll make a full recovery. All the best my friend, Lumix Ps. Feel free to contact me if you want to talk about it more.

Sorry to hear about your health problems, honestly I have never heard of Bell's Palsy, but it doesn't sound fun.
My thought are with you, hopefully you have a quick recovery.

Just take a look at the sever once in a great while to make sure its up Seriously Makz, no one here will have any reservation telling you to do so (and if they do, then Vugor will want a word with them ) Get well!

Thanks all,
I spent 2 hrs at the doctors this morning to be told what I already knew. I have been given a prescription for antibiotics and anti-inflammatories... but, no guarantee they will help... I sure hope they do, a constantly running eye and a mouth that doesn't work properly are no joy.

My wife had this long before we got married and she told me the doctors prescribed steroids for her case.... hmm not sure that is a dirrection you want to go in but she said it helped her. Hope you get well soon, and don't worry about us we will be fine. The DM's are a great bunch of people that can help out if you decide not to work so much.

Bells Palsy. Never heard it of it, but is sure sounds like a major pain in the ###. I hope the antibiotics will speed up your recovery.
All the best,

Prednisone is the most commonly applied steroid for Bell's. That it has been caught immediately is the best of news. For those that are curious but too lazy to look it up, it is caused by a nerve inflammation in CN-VII (7th cranial nerve). Prognosis in most cases is good recovery in 3 months or less.
