As many of you have noticed I have been taking some pains to get the forums up to a Community Class standard - seeing as how we are on top of the heap in the actual game. To that end, I would like to see a more professional looking Logo than the one I created 3 or 4 months ago that we are curently still using. If we get multiple ones that I feel are up to snuff, I may rotate them in over a few months or a year.
Specifics:
1. Must be 600x100 pixels in size (or similar aspect ratio)
2. Must have The Island of Fredian somewhere in the image.
3. Must not contain copywrited material... Im not sure but I suspect that montage / heavily modified images are probably ok.
4. May be cropped/resized by me for appropriate form fitting
5. May not be used if judged sub-standard (nothing personal - just trying to set a high standard for our PW here 
Rewards: As of this time there is only one reward for submission / approval - the bragging rights to say "Hey, I did that" to our whole forum  Maybe Makz will offer something more in game, but Im not speaking for him - this was just a stray thought that came up when Pheonix and I were chatting. Seemed like a good idea. Submissions can be made publickly in the screenshots forums or via e-mails to me. AWESOME IDEA! But when is the due date?  I'll start right away, I already have a lot of idea's to try out as well. ;D Now only if I had free time *sigh* Let me know when you need these by. -Lumix Ps. What is the name of the font you used to make the current Fredian logo?

No due date - I would just like to see some people get involved. ;D The font is Neverwinter Normal (neverwinter.ttf). Note that to make the logo the way I did, you have to take the N in FrediaN, put it in caps, rotate it 180 deg and shift it in. Youll see what I mean when you have the font. |

I did some sketches last night... expect something from me by the end of the month hopefully.
Is anyone else intested in doing this? I think its fun to play around with. I really want to see everyones different styles. I am personally an animation major, so expect to see something "cartoonic" muhahaha!

I'm working on some, though I've a better modern bar designer... We'll see what I can crap up. Ahlin wants new toys... edit: here's one I made... It's pretty nice I would say, and I do love blue! The good thing is the logo can be color tweaked and also the backround can be changed constantly, so I can update them assuming I have good screen shots that emphasise the island... This one is the colleseum shot that Mak posted.  Edit: Did the N the right way!  |

I like too... if you still have it in a format that you can move stuff around a bit, I would kern some of the spacing out form the D and the N on each of the trailing words.

Not to be a wet blanket here, but a couple of ideas:
1) It would be cool to have a header that looks good at both small and large sizes, with different resolutions, and under less than optimum monitor conditions... you know, web-friendly. And also: instantly recognisable. The best logos are ones you know instinctively: think Nike, Apple, Windows, or Tux for that matter.
2) Waaaaay back when Lumix proposed a series of Fredianwear items... it would be pretty cool to see the same logo on those shirts as well. (I'm still waiting for my camisole!) Something very intricate isn't likely to transfer well to something like a silk-screened t-shirt.
Now I'm not trying to knock anyone's work here, after all, I can't draw... some days I can barely read my own writing. But while my hands can't do it my brain does have a few mold-encrusted ideas... maybe for those of us who can't draw, we could chat with those who can? Collaboration = good:-)

Try a refresh Phoenix - Tehre shold be NO message notice now. you might have been looking in those few seconds when I was uploading stuff.
I fixed the kerining bits of the image, centered it across the whoe top, removed the message notice (as the popup tells you anyway) and removed the line that states what level oyu are at in the forums (as the little outline shows you that too.) I recommended format at 800 pixels wide - figuring most probbly run that at least nowadays - it will not allow for scaleable images - so 1 size must fit all. If you think I should go smaller we can...

silentus... I do not know if this is me or not, I just installed mozilla on the winblows machine here, and now I get no "popup" notification of new PM's... did you turn off this functionallity on the forums? cause it seemed to be working fine on my other mozilla install on the "real" system (and even was working with internet exploder before now too....) no biggie, just wondering here.... |

Still goofed, cleared cache, reloaded images from the server, and a partridge in a pear tree.  I get this for a second, then the message part is 'pushed' off the right and it gone. It looks OK once it loads. |
